Trabajo extra / extra work

El hecho de vivir en un piso pequeño o la llegada de un nuevo miembro a la familia que pasa a ocupar el cuarto que solíamos utilizar como despacho doméstico ya no es un problema a la hora de buscar sitio para un nuevo rincón de trabajo. No hablamos de tele-trabajo ni de la oficina en casa, para eso se necesita más equipamiento y espacio del que aquí proponemos, hablamos de destinar un espacio mínimo pero suficiente a esos ratos en los que necesitamos un escritorio sin necesidad de mezclarlo con otras funciones del hogar.

Deberemos buscar esos rincones desaprovechados y reinventarlos para que nos permitan desarrollar esa actividad tan necesaria y que desgraciadamente no suele tener cabida entre los requisitos mínimos de reserva de espacio en una vivienda. Un pequeño armario, una esquina, el frente de una ventana...

Apuntamos una serie de recomendaciones que vendrán muy bien al diseñar un espacio de trabajo alternativo:

• Delimitemos una zona de la estancia principal que definirá que ese rincón está destinado exclusivamente al trabajo y a la concentración. Una buena idea puede ser pintar de un color diferente o empapelar esa parte de la pared.
• Intentemos buscar una fuente de luz natural y de ventilación. La naturaleza siempre nos carga las pilas y nos infunde energía para trabajar.
• Utilicemos un mobiliario cómodo, práctico y que combine estéticamente con el del resto de la estancia. Ha de cumplir ampliamente su función sin desentonar con el ambiente en el que está integrado.
• El orden es fundamental, pensemos que vamos a tener el escritorio siempre a la vista, por tanto dotémoslo en la medida de lo posible de alguna cajonera, de estanterías y archivadores y cajas que oculten los documentos y materiales.
• Otro factor a tener en cuenta es la limpieza, utilicemos recursos como la canalización de cables y mostremos cuidado en recoger las cosas al terminar de trabajar.
• Personalicemos el rincón de modo que nos apetezca trabajar, creemos un puesto agradable mediante alguna foto familiar o una planta. Es un sitio en el que puede que pasemos largos ratos.

To live in a small floor or the arrival of a new member to the family that will occupy the room where we used to have our home ofice is not a problem when we look for a place for a new corner of work. We don't mean telework or tu rule the job from our house, for it there is needed more equipment and space of which here we propose, we talk about destining a minimal but sufficient space to these moments in which we need an office without mixing it with other functions of the home.
We will have to seek for these burnt up spaces and to re-invent them in order that they allow us to develop this so necessary activity and that unfortunately it is not in the habit of having content among the minimal requirements of reservation of space in a housing. A small cupboard, a corner, the front of a window...
Let's see some tips to design a working space:

• Let's delimit a zone of the principal room that will define that this corner is destined exclusively to the work and to the concentration. A good idea can be paint it in a different color or to use wallpaper.
• Let's try to look for a natural light and ventilation source. The nature always loads our batteries to work more and better.
• Let's use a comfortable and practical furniture, combining aesthetically with that of the rest of the room. It has to fulfill widely its function without being out of tune with the environment to which it is integrated.
• The order is basic, let's think that we are going to have the office always at sight, therefore let's provide as far as possible of some drawers, racks and file cabinets and boxes that hide the documents and materials.
• Another point to have in mind is the cleanliness, let's use resources to guide the wires and cables and let's be careful to put the things away on having stopped working.
• Let's personalize the corner so that we like to work, let's create a nice place with some familiar photos or a plant. May be we spend a long time in this place.
