English version: Is it possible? Often you wonder what to remove in a new house in order to optimize the major investment of our life, of saving money on the one hand to spend on the other one, or simply avoid to spend more. And one of these elements might be the wardrobes. Probably they are not so necessary by themselves as the valuable space that they occupy and how that space is organized, but we can interpret the furniture of thousand ways.
The Legislation about Design and Quality of dwellings in the Valencian Community (similar others exist in other regions) say in its article 5, relating to the equipment of the housing, in its paragraph a) Storage:
“Any housing will have a space for storage of the clothes and household that will not be under to 28,25ft³ per user with a minimal depth of 22 inches that will be able to materialize by means of built-in cupboard, by means of surface reservation for the disposition of furniture, or both.”
Therefore, such legislation, while it guarantees the right to a space for a minimal storage, leaves the way open to us to design it in the most convenient way for us.
Either as independent dressing room, or as a coat rack in sight or hidden behind a curtain, or as conventional cupboard, all these forms are valid to put our personal things away. Depending on the idiosyncrasy of every person, we will obtain the whole range of possibilities, each one more particular, but valid all of them to effects of conditions of habitability, providing that they fulfill the minimal mentioned dimensions.
And what’s your opinion? Would you be ready to resign a conventional cupboard to save some money in the furniture of your house? We will be very satisfied to receive your comments in the matter.aquí
