En unas semanas comenzará una nueva edición de Casa Decor en Madrid y el edificio elegido para esta ocasión no ha podido ser más apropiado: la antigua sede del Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos en Madrid (COAM), en la calle del Barquillo 12.
In a few weeks a new edition of Casa Decor will begin in Madrid and the building chosen for this time is the old headquarters of the Association of Architects in Madrid (COAM) in 12, Barquillo Street.
Los que sois habituales de este evento, sabéis que en cada edición se suele elegir un edificio singular que durante un mes se transforma mostrando las interesantes propuestas de interiorismo y decoración de unos cincuenta artistas. El edificio escogido cuenta con más de 4.000m², tres fachadas exteriores, unos espacios interiores de impresión y una situación inmejorable en pleno centro de la ciudad.
Those ones who usually don't miss this event, know that, in each edition, a singular building is chosen to be refurbished during a month, showing about fifty interesting proposals of interior designers. This year building has more than 4,000 sqm, three exterior facades, amazing interior spaces and the best location in the heart of the city.
Este inmueble fue construido en 1875 por el arquitecto José Núñez Cortés para uso residencial. En 1950 fue adquirido por el COAM y semi-rehabilitado para adecuarlo al nuevo uso administrativo, función que ha desempeñado hasta 2012. En el futuro, el edificio será destinado nuevamente a residencial de lujo promovido por un grupo inversor extranjero.
This building was built in 1875 by architect José Núñez Cortés for housing. In 1950 it was acquired by the COAM and semi-rehabilitated to offices until 2012. In the future, the building will go back to luxury residential promoted by a foreign investor group.
