Cottage at the beach

El verano ha llegado de repente, hace tan solo quince días aún íbamos de manga larga y esta misma semana hemos superado los ¡38º!. Por eso necesitamos urgentemente irnos a la playa y disfrutar de ambientes refrescantes, pero coged un buen equipaje porque nos vamos nada menos que al hemisferio sur, donde ahora mismo están entrando en el invierno. Os invitamos a acompañarnos por un rato a las playas de Paternoster, en Sudáfrica, a gozar con esta casa de campo costera cuyo diseño recibe claras influencias mediterráneas en contraste.

Suddenly summer has come, a fortnight ago we used to wear long-sleeved clothes but these days the temperature has reached 38º! That's because we need to go away urgently to the beach and to enjoy refreshing environments, but take a large baggage because we are going to the south hemisphere, no less, where just now they are welcoming the winter. Let's come for a while to Paternoster's beaches, in South Africa, to enjoy this beach cottage whose design has clear Mediterranean influences.

Las claves de esta casa residen en el respeto por su estructura original, los elementos naturales en su decoración y la elección del color verde agua en el mobiliario como nexo de unión de los diferentes materiales.

Muros portantes de piedra natural, cobertura de madera y revestimientos de cal y cañizo. Todo ello produce una serenidad y una sencillez muy fáciles de reproducir en cualquier latitud.

The keys of this house come from the respect of its original structure, the natural elements in its decoration and the choice of the mint color down in the furniture as link between the different materials.

Load-bearing walls of natural stone, wooden roof and coatings of lime and wattle. All this causes a serenity and a simplicity very easy to reproduce in any latitude.
