Un dormitorio más en la casa de Ruth / One more bedroom in Ruth's house

Ruth nos escribe solicitando nuestra ayuda para una de las necesidades que más éxito tiene en nuestro blog: un dormitorio más. Actualmente sólo disponen de dos y pronto aumentarán la familia ¡enhorabuena! por lo que se ha de sacar mejor provecho de la vivienda actual.

Ruth has written asking some help for one of the more successful questions in this blog: an extra bedroom. Now they only have two but soon will increase their family, congratulations! so we have to get the best of this house.

Aunque a Ruth no le importa afrontar una reforma integral, los condicionantes son los que son, y los que nos obligan a unas determinadas distribuciones. De este modo, los desagües generales del edificio, el número y disposición de ventanas y la forma en L de la vivienda, son los factores que nos van a limitar el proyecto.

Although Ruth doesn't mind to make a complete refurbishment, there are some determining factors that force to design in one or another way, as the general drains of the building, the number and position of the windows and the L shape of the house.

En ambas soluciones vamos a desplazar la cocina, que no necesita luz directa si se diseña abierta, y vamos a poner en su lugar la nueva habitación.

En el caso de arriba mantenemos prácticamente toda la distribución de la casa:

• Ajustamos los dos dormitorios existentes para obtener sendos armarios.
• El baño principal lo desplazamos cambiando sólo la bañera de lado, donde antes había un armario.
• Obtenemos una pequeña cocina "robando" espacio al salón y tomando el que antes ocupaba la bañera.

In both solutions we'll move the kitchen, which doesn't need direct light if it is open, instead of it we'll put the new bedroom.

In this first layout, we'll keep almost all the walls:

• In both current bedrooms, we can get two cupboards.
• The bathtub is moved to the other side, where a cupboard was.
• The new kitchen comes from a part of the living room and the space of the old bathtub.

En esta segunda solución hemos eliminado el baño principal y reorganizado el aseo, con lo cual conseguimos tres armarios más, y en el lugar del antiguo baño obtenemos una cocina mayor, de una longitud similar a la antigua.

In this second solution, we have removed the main bathroom and rearranged the toilet, this way we get three more cupboards, and, instead of the old bathroom we get a larger kitchen, with more or less the same length of the old one.

Como observaciones a añadir:

• La puerta/ventana de la vieja cocina, deberá convertirse en puerta, igual a las otras dos. Aunque las fachadas no se pueden tocar, este es un cambio leve que, si se trata estéticamente bien, puede pasar desapercibido.
• La puerta balconera del salón, si se cambia por una corredera, permitirá disponer de más espacio.

Some observations more:

• The door/window of the old kitchen must become a door, with similar look to the others.
• The door of the lounge balcony should be changed to a sliding door to get more space in this room.
