El carpintero es el protagonista / Carpenter is the star

En nuestra cultura y con la forma tradicional de construir que solemos utilizar, tendemos a pensar que las distribuciones interiores deben ser hechas por un albañil, con tabiques tradicionales de ladrillo. Pero todo cambia y evolucionamos a otras soluciones.

El apartamento que os presentamos hoy es una vivienda de muy escasas dimensiones, llevada a cabo en Nueva York, en 2009, por el Estudio JPDA. Está resuelta con paneles de madera que configuran un núcleo contenedor del baño, la cocina y el dormitorio, aparte de todo el espacio de almacenaje.

Es una distribución en serie que se adapta a la forma longitudinal de la vivienda y que se reparte ordenadamente en recibidor, baño, cocina, dormitorio y salón-estar compartido con el espacio de trabajo. El dormitorio se sitúa elevado sobre un armario trastero de gran capacidad, aprovechando la gran altura interior.

La única fuente de luz procede del fondo de la casa y es ahí donde se ubica la zona de día y, especialmente, el rincón de trabajo. El dormitorio recibe iluminación por la parte superior del altillo.

Cada centímetro es aprovechado para almacenaje, una de las asignaturas pendientes en las viviendas convencionales actuales, sujetas a normativa mínima en este aspecto.

En el salón, toda una armariada reviste el muro dando lugar mediante su óptimo diseño a la utilización como ropero, zona de TV y trabajo. El dormitorio aprovecha todo su frente con otra batería de armarios, y hasta la escalera de acceso está compuesta de cajones a modo de peldaños.

La conclusión que se obtiene de este tipo de distribuciones, en las que son los propios muebles o armarios los que configuran el espacio, es que vale la pena invertir desde el principio en un óptimo estudio volumétrico del espacio y en un buen profesional, porque a la larga todo ello hace que la vivienda "se viva sola".

Son trabajos hechos con mucho mimo y con una complicidad muy gratificante entre el propietario, el industrial y el técnico. Son proyectos que exigen una documentación extra para definir adecuadamente su diseño, pero que merecen la pena ser llevados a cabo por lo mucho que se disfrutan.

English version: In our culture and with the usual way of constructing we use to do, we tend to think that the indoor housing distributions have to be done with brick walls. But everything changes and new solutions are considered.

The apartment shown is a tiny flat, refurbished in New York, 2009, by JPDA Studio. It is solved with wooden panels that form a core containing the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and part of the whole space of storage.

It is a serial distribution adapted to the longitudinal form of the housing and which is divided tidily in hall, container and living to be shared with the working space. The bedroom is located over a cupboard room of great capacity, taking advantage of the great height.

The only light source comes from the bottom of the house and is there where the day zone is located, specially, the corner of work. The bedroom has a window in the attic.

Every centimeter is taken advantage for storage, one of the matter pending in the conventional current housings, subjected to minimal regulation in this aspect.

In the living room, a long cupboard covers the wall giving place with its ideal design to the utilization as a dresser, TV's zone and working area. In the bedroom another cupboard cover the front wall, and even the stairs of access is composed of drawers like steps.

The conclusion that we obtain of this kind of distributions, in which it is the furniture or cupboards those that form the space, is that it is worth to spend from the beginning in an ideal volumetric study of the space and in a good professional, because, eventually, the result is an easy way of life.

These are works done with so much loving care and with a very gratifying complicity between the owner, the manufacturer and the technician. These are projects which need some extra schemes and documents to define suitably its design, but that are worth to make them because of they are enjoyed.
